Hey all,
Just to remind people that the next Open Drinks London is taking place on
6th May: http://en.okfn.org/2014/04/28/london-open-drinks-3-tuesday-may-6th/
Organised by Open Knowledge, Wellcome Trust, PLOS and eLife, the organisers
have a strong open access/science bias - but the event is for anyone
interested in any area of open, and we have confirmed attendees from people
who don't work on science/open access.
I should add though that personally I'm really keen to talk to/meet anyone
interested in discussing the recent data released around author processing
charges (http://access.okfn.org/2014/03/24/scale-hybrid-journals-publishing/)
, library subscription data (
http://gowers.wordpress.com/2014/04/24/elsevier-journals-some-facts/),
and/or the strong statement from Cambridge VC about subscriptions and
concerns about companies looking to control open data (
http://www.rtaylor.co.uk/borysiewicz-elsevier-open-access.html).
Come and join us!
Best,
Michelle
