Hi All
To add to the exciting community threads and conversations that have kicked
off here and over on the Mozilla Science Lab list over the last few weeks -
I have some news!
Thanks to the generosity of my PhD funder BBSRC and their progressive view
that it's important for students to experience professional careers outside
academia, I have three months funding to work full time at Open Knowledge
from Mon 6 Oct.
I've been the open science working group coordinator for a few years and
its been amazing but my time to work on this has been more limited recently
than I'd like. My experimental work is now coming to a close and the chance
to spend more time with you guys instead of my mosquitoes is a very
exciting prospect.
So - from Monday to at least the end of the year and hopefully beyond, I'm
yours!
If there is anything I can do to support the working group and its members
(you) let me know. If you think Open Knowledge should be active in an area,
you need coordination support for a community project, there's an event
you'd like to organise, you need collaborators for a project, just get in
touch. We don't currently have any funding specifically for this, but I'll
be working on that too.
I'll be booting up an open notebook and calendar soon so you can see what
I'm up to and also send another email next week outlining my current goals
for this time that you can supplement with your own ideas of what the
working group needs.
I'm really looking forward to it :)
Jenny
