Hello Jack.

Yes, it does work for me and me and Josefin will also be joined by Elina Eriksson (who gets a copy of this mail).

> We normally have speaker events on a Monday evening, but we're keen to play with the format to keep it fresh. Have to have a think what sort of event might work well on a Sunday lunchtime. Open to ideas! Perhaps a Cleanweb Brunch, A Cleanweb-Picnic-in-the-Park, A Cleanweb BBQ or a Cleanweb Unconference…

This is a very mixed crowd of largely Webby people (developers, designers, entrepreneurs), some environmental people and a mix of others, so the talks tend to be more "TED-y" than academic in tone. You can see the sort of events we've had on the meetup group: http://www.meetup.com/Cleanweb-London/

There are probably a number of things we could talk about. Here are some suggestions (perhaps a Skype chat would be helpful to figure out what would be most interesting to you guys):

- Your April "Gaming for sustainability" topic could be extended with a talk about Carbonopoly, a game we will use in mine and Elina's course on ICT and sustainability in September. We plan to do a study and will thus also collect material during the three gaming sessions in the beginning of September. See further http://danielpargman.blogspot.se/2013/04/carbonopoly-back-with-vengance.html

- Me and Elina could also/instead give a talk about the course itself. We will be about halfway through the course at that point (and the course is also the reason I have to go back to Stockholm directly after the conference). This course is the topic of the EESD paper we will present conference, "'It's not fair!' Making students engage in sustainability".

- Your Sept "Forward Technology" topic about how energy is generated and consumed could be complemented with a talk about Elina's current research project on small-scale home generated (wind) energy from a Swedish perspective.

- I could talk about the research project I'm involved in, "Scenarios and impacts of the information society". I'm lobbying for trying out our five scenarios of possible future information societies at a Science Fiction convention, "Fantastika", in Stockholm in October. See further http://danielpargman.blogspot.se/2013/06/ict-society-scenarios-future-of-work.html

- I could talk about my interest in "Collapse informatics". Collapse informatics is "the study, design and development of sociotechnical systems in the abundant present for use in a future of scarcity". I will go to the US for half a year next year to work with the authors of the linked paper and I could also talk some about my interest in "crisis-proofed lifestyles" (which I hope can become a research project at some point). See further http://danielpargman.blogspot.se/2012/02/networking-through-crises.html

- I assume we (e.g. Josefin) could give a talk based on the paper we will present at the EESD conference, "Engineers of the future: Using scenario methods in sustainable development education".

- Josefin could also talk about other things but I'm not sure what of her research connects to ICT and what doesn't, but the ICT4S presentation could be a good start. Josefin has to fill in here.

My blog is actually a good place to trawl for topics that I'm interested in/could talk about. I did not so much a summary as a follow-up to the previous academic year's blog posts here:

I'm planning to travel to London Saturday Sep 21st to visit some friends before the conference starts. However, since I won't be arriving until the evening I think that the Sunday would be better, and preferably the afternoon as the first conference event is scheduled to start at 18.30.
