[openbiblio-dev] JISC openbib update

Let me put in a word for those who care little for RDF arcanery and a lot
for commonsense machine-readable formats for biblio data, at least something with the
richness and transparent meaning of BibTeX, and capable of driving faceted biblio data displays.

It seems timely to revisit the BibJSON spec http://www.bibkn.org/bibjson/index.html and to
-- provide some JSON export from Bibliographica which is compatible with some minor adaptation of BibJSON
-- establish this form of BibJSON as the base format for BibServer
-- provide BibServer faceted displays over Bibliographica collections as proof of concept
-- promote the wider use of BibJSON as a simple machine-readable biblio data exchange format and BibServer
as a tool to display that format.
How JSON-LD fits with this agenda I am not quite sure. I would hope we could get the best of BibJSON or JSON-LD,
call it the next generation BibJSON, and consolidate this standard for the purposes of BibServer dev.
I hope this goal might serve to focus the JSON-LD discussion.
Mark and Richard, could you also comment from the BibServer dev perspective?
--Jim
