You probably all know this but I was just editing a page in Wikipedia and
found the new reference style - which is very similar to BibJSON:
{{Reflist|colwidth=40em|refs=
<ref name="du-home">{{cite web
| last = McWhorter | first = Jeanne
| url = http://www.du.org/
| title = DU Educational Technology Services, Inc.
| work = Diversity University
| date = 2001-04-24
| archiveurl = http://web.archive.org/web/20051215192404/www.du.org/
| archivedate = 2005-12-15
| accessdate = 2010-04-28
}}</ref>
<ref name="du-mission">{{cite web
| last = McWhorter | first = Jeanne
| url = http://www.du.org/duinc/mission.htm
| title = DUETS, Inc. Mission (Purpose) Statement
| work = Diversity University
| date = 2001-04-30
| archiveurl =
http://web.archive.org/web/20050212000203/www.du.org/duinc/mission.htm
| archivedate = 2005-12-15
| accessdate = 2010-04-28
}}</ref>
I don't think it's universally deployed.
This looks a tremendous opportunity - I think Rufus mentioned some contact?
