Subject: Be part of Connected, our book on the Internet of Things?
To: Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino <alex at designswarm.com>

Dear friends, collaborators and ThingsCon speakers,

Alex (Deschamps-Sonsino) and Peter (Bihr) have decided to publish a book
capturing the world of the internet of things and its impending impact on
all our lives to launch at ThingsCon, which Peter is organising in Berlin
on May 2nd/3rd (tickets here <http://thingscon.com/tickets>).

The Internet of Things as a term and a new industry has gone through a
rapid transition from the sphere of academia (slow technology, ubiquitous
computing) to appearing on national IT agendas (the UK's announcement today
of a further £50M in funding for that space). In this period of rapid
development, it's important to take stock and see the forest from the
trees. *Connected* (http://thewavingcat.com/connected) will draw the
landscape of short and long-term challenges and opportunities, document
lessons learnt from the pioneers and showcase the most exciting connected
products of the past 10 years of development.

As a contributor to the conference or to the field, we would love to have
your thoughts captured in some way. If you would like to be included in
this publication, we would welcome

   - articles (max 2000 words)
   - links to articles you think really capture the issues in your part of
   the industry
   - examples of connected products you are excited about
   - anything else you think should make it to a book about this topic at
   this exciting junction.

Please include your bio and a photo we can publish alongside your
contribution.

All this before April 4th 2013 at midnight GMT.

We will be getting this into a physical book which you will receive a free
copy of as a contributor at ThingsCon in Berlin (tickets
here<http://thingscon.com/tickets>
).

Best,

Peter & Alex
