Hi Lieke,

Wikimedia Germany has recently released a set of recommendations on how to establish successful partnerships between Wikimedia and heritage institutions (multilingual):
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Learning_patterns/Towards_a_Successful_GLAM_Partnership

On German Wikipedia, we also have a set of recommendations and instructions targeted at heritage institutions in Switzerland who would like to get active on Wikipedia:
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:GLAM/Schweiz
This includes also a list of all heritage institutions, showing which ones have already been covered by one or several Wikipedia articles.
I’m happy to assist with the transfer to other countries/languages (some of the instructions need localization regarding the legal situation and the situation in a given language version of Wikipedia).

Kind regards,
Beat

Dear WG members,

As you've probably seen and heard during the last calls, we've been working on the Open Content Exchange Platform for Europeana Space, an online platform providing access to documentation around open licensing and creative reuse of cultural heritage content (see http://www.europeana-space.eu/content-space/the-open-content-exchange-platform/).

In the next months we want to further improve the platform and add more resources (especially newer ones), and therefore it would be great to get your feedback. What do you think of the platform so far? Do you know 1-2 resources that should be in there, perhaps from your country? Do you know other good resources we should check out or connect to?

Many thanks for your help!

Best regards, Lieke Ploeger

Dear all,

A new blog has just been published on OpenGLAM on the fist version of the Open Content Exchange Platform: http://openglam.org/2015/07/29/presenting-the-open-content-exchange-platform/

This platform has been developed by Open Knowledge within the context of the eSpace (Europeana Space) project, focused on developing possibilities for creative reuse of digital cultural content. The Open Content Exchange Platform provides guidelines and tools for the effective exchange of public domain and openly licensed content between both suppliers and users of open content, and has been built using Omeka (similar to our recently updated Open Collections page).

There are a variety of different resources in the platform on the topic of reuse of open cultural heritage content, such as guides, case studies, videos, papers, books and presentations: through the search interface, you can easily filter on specific content, or on specific tags. All resources of our OpenGLAM Documentation page have also been incorporated – in the future, a version of the new platform will replace our Documentation webpage to provide a more user-friendly and updated overview.

Feedback on the platform is very welcome: are there any resources you would like to see included? Do you have specific questions around the reuse of cultural heritage material that you would like to find guidance on? Would you like to be able to search the platform in different ways? Let us know in the comments of the blog, or by replying to this email.

Best regards, Lieke Ploeger.
