Hi Melissa,

This was interesting, I had listened to this on the Nature Podcast. There they claimed that Research Gate has now already > 5 million published researches. To me it was interesting that according to the Nature Podcast the OECD estimated the number of published researches at 8 to 10 million, which would mean that over 50% of all the researchers world wide are on Research Gate.

In case you have not read this yet, great article about the rising tide of social networks for science:  "More than 4.5 million researchers have signed up for ResearchGate, and another 10,000 arrive every day...That is a pittance compared with Facebook's 1.3 billion active users, but astonishing for a network that only researchers can join..."
