Dear all,
I'd like to share the first prototype of wdmmg-bmf [1]. This is the
first plugin to Where Does My Money Go?, porting the overall look and
feel of OffenerHaushalt on top of the new Mongo-based data store. As
you can see on the demo site [2], it does not yet offer the full
functionality of either WDMMG or OffenerHaushalt and it could do with
some serious caching. Over the next few weeks I hope that we can
restore functionality (such as commenting, link collections, perhaps
the nice wdmmg bubble diagram etc.) and use the new, flexible backend
to load other (local and state) budgets. As a trial run for this, Olav
and I will participate in a hackday on tuesday to load and use local
budget data from Bergen (wdmmg-bergen to be released soon :-).
In order to create this demo, the following features were prototyped
into WDMMG:
* Port to mongo backend
* Plugin Architecture, based on CKANs PCA integration [3].
* Theming using public & templates overlays (again, stolen from CKAN).
* i18n, including string externalization in templates
* multi-domain i18n support hack (details to follow, needs to be
ported to CKAN)
* Aggregator utility functions for classifier/entity breakdowns & totals
* CSV export of entries
* Nice color generator in wdmmg-core ;-)
Missing IMO:
* Lots of Trac tickets and overall professionalism
* Support for global browsing state, including configurable "time" params.
* Theming and integration of SERPs, Entry pages.
Cheers,
Friedrich
