Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the invite Lisa, I'm happy to join this group and look forward to
assisting however I may.

My name is Steve Adcock (gsaintheusa at gmail.com). I'm a recently retired
geoscience and data management specialist (BS Physics 1973, BS Geology 1980,
MS Geophysics 1990). I'll jump right in via the discussion threads to make
suggestions, raise ideas and concerns, and generally be such a nuisance as
us only us Americans truly can. I also have the advantage of being
physcially far removed, making retribution more difficult:)

I hope y'all don't end up consider it seagull help (flys in, makes a lot of
noise, shits on everything, then leaves -- also known as "seagull
management"), which I've certainly had my share of over the years, but I'll
honestly do what I can to be useful.

We (WDMMG) have interests that coincide with at least the CKAN, ODS, ODC,
KF, and OE projects. I have not yet reviewed those projects or their
archives, but an archive email regarding CKAN implied that WDMMG might need
a dm (does everybody know that means data manager?) liaison for that and the
other OKF projects. If so, I'd be happy to tackle that task.

Some introductory questions:

   1. Is Lisa project lead?
   2. Do we have a current project plan or task lists in some form?
   3. Do we have a project member roster with skills and time available to
   commit to the project?
   4. Are we using tools from the other OKF projects to communicate or
administer (anything other than this email forum)? Any other software (i.e.
   MS Project)?
   5. Are there any governance documents for the project? for the
   foundation?
   6. Is there an OKF level data or information specialist?

Regards and Best Wishes,
Steve Adcock
