Have you looked at matching spending by region (for schools, for example) with the aggregation of LA schools spending for that region from the 2006-07 Spending Report. It's now on OpenlyLocal (http://openlylocal.com/dataset_families/252). I haven't yet grouped by Region, but I'm planning to in the future, and I'd be interested to see if we can get the national and local figures to add up.

Just taking a look at the LA data on OpenlyLocal now - excellent data set, and very nice work putting it onto OpenlyLocal! The data set also contains information about health spending, which I'd found elsewhere, but not in such an accessible format.

The main problem I see getting the LA data to match up to the national figures is that each uses a different organisational structure. The national data is grouped using COFOG, and the LA figures aren't, and it will take a lot of work to reconcile them.
