Hello everyone on the PD-discuss list,
my name's Sara, and I'm helping out to co-ordinate actions for the Public Domain Working Group amongst others things at OKF.
Following on from Jonathan's rolling ball yesterday, one of the things we'd like to do with the Working Group on the Public Domain is to extend some formal invitations.
To this end, we'd like to start compiling a list of parties to invite. If you could throw some ideas in the ring, that would be great, and I'll add them to the PD WG wiki as we go along (which is here: http://wiki.okfn.org/wg/publicdomain). People associated with Public Domain Centres, PD Calculators etc. are the obvious candidates, but do please feel free to suggest parties who you think would be able to contribute relevantly. Likewise, if you know of a particular candidate based at or affiliated with any of the Centers, who we would be able to contact, this would be helpful. Suggestions so far:
* Center for the Study of the Public Domain (Duke University, USA)
* Séverine Dusollie (Department of Intellectual Property Rights, Research Center for Computer & Law, University of Namur, Belgium)
* Copyright & Fair Use Center (Stanford University, USA)
* Copyright Information Center (Cornell University, USA)
* Institute for Information Law (University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
Looking forward to discussing further at our new monthly meetings...
best
Sara
