[pd-discuss] Public Domain Day 2011 / Which works enter the PD in 2011?

Hi All,

Thanks a lot to Jonathan for resuming the conversation we had started in 
the Summer
about the upcoming PD Day 2011. For the 2010 edition we had created the
following mini-site

www.publicdomainday.org

which documented the celebrations that we knew about (mostly COMMUNIA
members from Switzerland and Poland). We also collected the reports of such
celebrations, when available.

This year - through the concerted efforts of anyone who cares about the PD,
including our good friends at the COMMUNIA network, OKF, Creative Commons,
and many others -  we should strive - if you agree - to stimulate 
(facilitate?)
more celebrations around the world.

The reference organizational model could the Open Access week, with a 
single site
managed by the supporting entities that collectively promote the event and
populate the website with news, links,  relevant resources, etc.

If you like the model, we would be most glad to share the responsibility of
managing the site - which we have started and hosted, but with the desire,
from the beginning, of placing it at the service of the public domain.

What do you think?

I will send a description of what we are organizing in Torino (Italy)
for the PD Day celebration in a separate message.
