Have set up a event page for our first meetup
http://attending.io/events/product-open-data - still needs a date and
location, suggest a time in the next two weeks.
Looking forward to hearing all of your ideas for the festival Katelyn has
kindly started a pad for everyone to post ideas.
http://okfnpad.org/p/Product_OKFestival
Think we could start by considering;
- A hack which combines the Sourcemap
API<http://free.sourcemap.com/info/api-docs>with our own database to
link their information to ours.
- Activity in which we provide people with a basket of goods to find out as
much as they can about the products
- Find a shop near the festival venue and turn them into our model shop
- Get together with one of the certification bodies to put something
together for them and open new data sets
- There is a trend in Germany at the moment towards the share-economy,
perhaps we can do something around that, so people are not buying things
they can borrow from their friends; http://whyownit.com/
Still would like to hear from anyone that can help with the financial
background of the project; current running costs, cost projections, funding
routes and all the stuff mentioned above.
Lastly; would like to massively thank- as I am sure we all would- Philippe
for putting this whole thing together in the form it is right now with such
a great depth of understanding and consideration for the possibilities the
project holds.
