[School-of-data] real world, recent examples of Open Data in/from schools?

(please don't yell at me, I myself got these news about 10 MINUTES
ago, really)

last fall I announced on this list this idea of mine:

I've been just asked to run a workshop on this... next week

I already have material, of course, but the more examples I can bring
there the better. I plan to put everything online with CC license.

So, thanks in advance to all who:

1) will provide practical examples, from any country, of

   "using open data set X, or if such an open data set existed, this
   teacher is/could propose practical exercises/homework/study
   material of part Y of the official school curriculum for subject Z"

2) circulate this request as much as possible, especially, but not
   only, among high school teachers
