Excel imports are normally supported, you can browse through our branches (
I think on the development branch, and pretty much all the rest of the
branches ) you will find the Excel resource.
XML imports are afaik not supported (yet).

The GUI project has been put aside since the end of september last year, so
far there has been no talks about getting on with it .
