Hi,

Not so much hardware hacking as in previous posts, instead rather
hackable and cheap hardware:

What if one of these could have been lent to each of the wsfii
participants for the duration of the event?

What if it had IRC and/or Jabber clients?

What if it could have been used to provide access to the wiki, the
programme and other facilities?

What if there was some online equivalent of the Lime that could have
been used with it?

Possibilities are endless.
