Dear Jeff and ALL:

Marco is currently in Ghana with us and is scheduled to partake in full day training. He attended our last meeting and we are expecting your directions, thoughts and suggestions on how w could organise a WSFII Africa proposed for Jan 2008 which is truly reflective of the WSFII spirit.

My continued abscence from the WSFII list often is due to the time consuming and energy sapping field work and coordination. I have read also this issue of the local team no being in contact with you all. Do pardon us and appreciate our challenge; few volunteers addressing this big task; high internet costs and its unreliability. Currently we are rationing power /energy which all together have direct effects on the way we operate here. These are not excuses but some pertinent and real problems for which WSFII Africa should have themes that really address both sustainable, low-cost and sustainable technologies and energy sources.

We will appreciate a coordinating team ASAP to work with us to enable form a joint planning team that will report to you all for inputs and directives.

Also do note that several events are being planned in Ghana at the WODiV

the planned wsfii summit which we are now planning for 2008. 

Just briefly with regards to that, I would appreciate it if we could get
a sense of what we want to discuss at the event and what we want to gain
from it. Also how we would like to see it organized? I suggest we
outline the steps that need to be taken in order to ensure that the same
issues we recently experiences with a lack of effective coordination are
not repeated.

Finally if anyone can make a contribution to help fund this upcoming
event in August or knows of someone who might be interested in
donating/sponsoring this event let me know and I can forward them the
Sponsor Letter and/or additional information as required.
