[ckan-dev] Creating models/table in a plugin

I’d like to be able to create new tables to represent relationships between resources, e.g. between datasets and events. So far the only reference I have found to this being possible is this post:

Is anyone aware of any documentation with a little more detail on how one might go about creating such a plugin? I can’t quite work out how to do it from the comments in this post.
