Hello Julius,

Thanks for responding to my email. It is great to know about mingle.io. We are definitely looking for functionalities similar to mingle.io in terms of searching data within a file. We are developing our web application on top of CKAN. Searching data within a file and being able to download a subset of data from a file is a core functionality that we need to develop. If "comp" can be integrated into CKAN that would be great. I am not sure if the CKAN datastore functionality is similar to your "comp" module.

I would be interested to learn about the architecture behind "comp".

Thanks,
Pabitra

Hello Pabitra,
I'm not from the CKAN team neither I am an expert in CKAN. However, I'd like to see more in details what your needs are. We, our company - mingle.io, are currently looking into integrating our technology into CKAN.
We've developed a powerful "datastore" if you like. It's a simple process which exposes any structured file through a queryable API over HTTP. You can see it deployed on our web site - https://mingle.io or play with it locally. we call it "comp", it's open source and available on github - https://github.com/ostap/comp
Are you interested to know more about it? From your post I understood you're looking for a simple way to query information from possibly large files of different format. I believe this is a good match for the "comp" tool mentioned earlier.

Hello Everyone,

I am very keen on learning about DataStore capabilities. We have a huge need for data subsetting from large data files of various format types. I was wondering if anyone can point me to one or more CKAN based sites where I can see/experience DataStore functionalities.

Thanks,
Pabitra
