Hi all,

We had an interesting case where we restricted logs to 5 weeks instead of 1 year, and am not unable to upload datasets citing errors with solr and tomcat. Has anybody else had similar experiences?

Hi All,

Just saying a big thanks to many people who've already contributed thoughts
to the doc. Please do keep the ideas and suggestions coming.

Also we also want *ratings on importance the suggestions* - all this
requires is adding a number between 1 and 5 next to an item. This will *only
take a minute or two* to do as you just need to glance through and add your
ratings.

*Shared Document for Our Ideas - Take a Look and Contribute Now ->
<https://docs.google.com/a/okfn.org/document/d/1fqM_2dTo90PDPdNbuBSoUJjxOHvfbYaw5_9uMgCUJAE/edit#>*

All the best,

Rufus

Hi guys,

TL;DR version: "Server Error" on every main Ckan page except "about"
after upload.

Details:

We're using CKAN APIv3 to load resource descriptions into
http://humanitariandataproject.org/ from lines in a google spreadsheet
(crisismappers have a *lot* of google spreadsheets).

The upload worked, but every page except the "About" section (e.g. main
, datasets, organisations) is displaying "Server Error: an internal
server error occurred".

Still visible are:

  * the About page
  * the dataset list in http://humanitariandataproject.org/user/sara)
  * the uploaded resources list in
    http://humanitariandataproject.org/user/activity/sara
  * individual resources, e.g.
    http://humanitariandataproject.org/dataset/03474e73-18c2-4203-b64a-2ff700924d2f/resource/a717f9ba-fec6-4878-8472-bb83008c0087

The last resource uploaded had an "@" in its title - I've deleted that
resource, but am still getting the above error.

Any clues? The upload code that we used is
https://github.com/bodacea/ckandump, file googlespread_to_ckan.py.

Thanks,

Sj.

Hi All,

*tl;dr: we have switched to Github issue tracker
<https://github.com/ckan/ideas-and-roadmap> for managing the Feature Ideas
and Roadmap for CKAN (see also the pretty version of the Roadmap
<https://waffle.io/ckan/ideas-and-roadmap>)*

As detailed previously<http://ckan.org/2013/06/24/ckan-roadmap-goes-public/>we
have a public we have a public process managing ideas and roadmap for
CKAN improvements.

This was being managed in Trello but is moving to Github issue
tracker<https://github.com/ckan/ideas-and-roadmap>

We have also updated the Roadmap page <http://ckan.org/roadmap> to give
more information about the Roadmap and how it works. I've inlined some of
this below - but see the page for full details.

Thoughts and comments - especially on the growing list of ideas in the
tracker - is very welcome!

Regards,

Rufus

Roadmap

This is the home page for the CKAN technical roadmap and its development
process.

The Roadmap provides stakeholders in CKAN, including users, developers and
vendors, with the ability to shape and understand the future technical path
for CKAN. Specifically, the Roadmap provides for:

   -

Suggesting new ideas and features for CKAN
   -

Prioritizing these into a schedule for future work especially on "core"
   CKAN

We emphasize that ideas don't just have to be about improvements to the core
CKAN software <https://github.com/ckan/ckan> - for example, the idea of
creating a new phone app client for CKAN would be perfect thing to submit.

Lastly, we should emphasize that, of course, just because an item is in the
ideas tracker does not mean it will get worked on. If you want a certain
feature implemented then the best way to ensure that happens is to sponsor
its development - get in touch for more information<http://ckan.org/contact/>

Why move from trello to github issues?

   -

Ability for anyone to join in (for trello you need to be added to the
   board)
   -

Github issues is more natural place for developers and we can make an
   easier connection with actual issues
   -

   Better notification ability
