[ddj] GIS + sound animation tool?

Hi there,

I'm wondering if anyone knows about data visualization tools that let you
animate GIS data on a map over time as well as add media to it, like a
sound recording.

What I'm trying to do is map GIS data collected over the course of several
bicycle commutes in Christchurch, New Zealand. On top of that, I'd like to
add an audio recording so that both the sound and GIS animation "play"
simultaneously.

This is part of a larger human geography / critical cartography research
project meant to bring light to road safety issues and hazards in the city.
While there are urban planning maps that denote where current roadworks and
construction are currently located (the city is rebuilding after a series
of earthquakes in 2011-12 damaged a lot of its infrastructure), I'm hoping
to find a way to capture sound on the road, which, as many people I've
spoken to here in interviews have mentioned, is one of the most
stress-inducing things about cycling.

Thanks for reading to my rambling request!
