Hello Darwin,

Thank you for the explanation. We discussed "updated on" significance during telco yesterday. Indeed Bert informed us that CKAN doesn't actually trace the changes in the metadata fields so "updated on" will actually reflect the date of the last ingestion. Fine with me.
We are thinking about convincing Estat to send us only modified files but it’s a project for the future.

After 1st quick glance I have a few remarks/questions. I know you're still working on it but it's just to draw your attention to some points.

Question concerning the catalogue record.
The objective of two distinctive information added to and updated on was to distinguish between the date when the dataset has been first declared on ODP and when it has been changed (metadata has been modified). What happens with the ESTAT datasets if they continue submitting the full package every day: will the system be able to know that the dataset had been already on the portal before (to give correct date for "added to ODP") or both dates ("added to" and "updated on") will equal to the date of the ingestion being always the same?

If the dataset is updated (rather than deleted and then reimported) then the "added to" field will show the date the dataset was first uploaded to the portal and the "updated on" field will show the date when the dataset was last changed. You can see an example here

This means that if all the Eurostat datasets are updated everyday then the value of "updated on" will always be the current date and the "added on" field will have the date the dataset was originally added to the portal. The best way to only change the updated date for items which have changed is to only import the datasets that have actually changed each day.

Comments:

1.    Download button is not exactly as in the mockup - should contain a small icon for download [cid:image001.png at 01CEA404.BD8A3960]

2.    Licence shouldn't indicate the http but its title
