I think I need to restate my position about this. We need a balance
between deserved attribution and "oversized ego".
I hope that it will not be considered as having an oversized ego to ask
for attribution which is a little retribution for the energy that one
puts in a work that he releases to the community.
To me, oversized ego is requesting attributions in inappropriate places
and inappropriate sizes, regarding how the project usally deals with
attribution.
Every project should reserve a place to attribute their contributors
appropriately. It may not be the front page, but there has to be a
place.
I do *not* ask that my name is put on every generated map. This would be
oversized ego. I’m perfectly fine with the fact that my name or pseudo
is buried somewhere in the database, but I think it has to stay there.
I made some proposals on co-ment for cases where it is really
technically imopssible to do so.
