Hi Ewan
This looks really interesting but unfortunately I’m not able to attend tonight – will the filmed sessions be made available online at some point?
I’m speaking at an event on open environmental data in Brussels in about 4 weeks’ time (http://enero.nilu.no/Workshops/OpenEnvironmentalData.aspx), and it would be great to be able to refer to this.
Best wishes
Martin

Subject: [ok-scotland] Next Open Knowledge Edinburgh meet-up: Edinburgh Central Library, 5.30 pm Monday 29th August 2016
The next Open Knowledge Edinburgh meet-up is kindly being hosted by Edinburgh Central Library, 5.30 pm Monday 29th August 2016, and will be held in the George Washington Browne room. The overall focus of the evening will be on environmental sustainability.
The first session will be showcase work from the Prewired Summerhack<http://www.prewired.org/summerhack2016.html>, a week-long programming competition for under 19s. In particular, two teams of young people will present an overview of the projects they developed during the event:
* Team Shred: Penguins for the planet -- a website to promote, encourage and make recycling easier.
* Team Notifree: A website to help the circular economy
The second session, starting at 19:00, will be an interactive tutorial led by Rory Gianni<http://www.rorygianni.me.uk/>. The tutorial will provide an introduction to the world of open data, focussing particularly on its potential to benefit the environment. Participants will explore how open data can be applied to environmental sustainability through case studies and interactive exercises. The tutorial will be ticketed separately since there is an upper limit of 20 participants.
Please note that both sessions will be filmed by ProductForge<http://productforge.io/>.
Schedule for the evening:
