Dear Ian,
this is an excellent idea! Please go ahead and open a conversation with @DavidHaskiya (please cc both lists above)
Would be great to see them involved. Below is a text snippet that we used to invite people:
Please also mention the exhibition space. So in addition to a speech they could have a place to show their project during all two days if they wished to.
Regards
Daniel

It's my pleasure to invite you to give a speech at this years Open Knowledge Conference – OKCon 2011 http://okcon.org/ which takes place on the 30th June and 1st of July in Berlin.
This is the 6th Annual Open Knowledge Conference (OKCon) and the first time we've been to Berlin. OKCon is a wide-ranging event that brings together individuals and organisations from academia and across the open knowledge spectrum for two days of presentations, workshops and exchange of ideas. It combines a fun, informal atmosphere with a diverse audience -- everyone from data geeks to policy-makers.
We would be delighted if you were able to come and talk on a theme of your choosing. Perhaps on the europeana project and its relation to open data and open access?
I look forward to hearing from you and please let me know if you have any questions.
