Dear all,

Apologies if this is deemed to be too off topic, but having seen the
previous GIS announcement of the day, I thought I would share with
news from a colleague about our recently released version of the
popular gvSIG GIS application. Further details and downloads are
available on our (still under construction) website:
http://oadigital.net

Cheers and best regards,

Joseph

Subject: gvSIG OA Digital Edition

Dear all,

after some months of positive experience with using gvSIG at our
archaeological company, we have decided to release an OA Digital Edition
for public download.

This version has no source code modifications and uses stable 1.1.2.

However, we have worked on the English user interface translations,
updated the Java Runtime Engine to the latest version, added some sample
data and documentation and re-packaged everything into a new, simpler
installer package available for Windows and Linux (Mac OS in the
works) systems here:

http://oadigital.net

This is the version which will stay in productive use at our company
until 2.0 gets released. Maybe some other people on this list will
also find it useful.

Best wishes,

Benjamin
