Awesome, Bea - glad to see this thread coming up, as it's something we are
thinking about every day at Mozilla also. Would be great to make a central
list of these somewhere that we can all reference and share in our networks!
Adding to it:
* In the UK, Make Things Do Stuff http://makethingsdostuff.co.uk/ --
Multi-org collaboration aimed at mobilising the next generation of digital
makers through kid-friendly events and actions
* Also in the UK, Code Club https://www.codeclub.org.uk/ -- volunteer-led
network of after school coding clubs for kids age 9-11
* Globally, of course, there is also Webmaker https://webmaker.org for
makers of all ages -- a set of open digital toolboxes and communities
focused on inspiring web users to move from being consumers to creators.
Webmaker includes tools like HTML editor Thimble, web vid maker Popcorn,
and the previously-mentioned Hackasaurus, also known as XRay Goggles. As
you can see, these are very close to my heart ;)
