Works for me (and worked for me yesterday when I first looked ...), i.e. 
can see a nice shiny page saying thank you with the banner logo etc etc

Not sure. Probably would like to keep the main page on our system (so 
that the link juice comes there) and then point from that to the 
petition page elsewhere.
