Hi All

Apologies for the self-promotion but I wrote a blog article that follows on
from the earlier discussion we had in these mailing lists. I hope that it
provides a useful position and a proverbial stake in the ground that
expresses an opinion that is not too far from the general consensus amongst
ourselves.
