Hi All
Code for South Africa, GovHackSA and the Western Cape Economic
Development Partnership are hosting a Data Quest competition on the
9th of May, 2015. As with most of our events, you don't need to be a
super geek to participate. We have three different challenges:
1. Best data visualisation or infographic
2. Best data-driven story
3. Best software prototype.
Come through if you're a graphic designer, (data) journalist, coder or
general data junkie.
We are also going to give the City of Cape Town's open data portal
some love by hammering it for datasets, sending requests for more data
and generally being a nuisance.
There will be prizes and food and all that stuff (if you're in a
position to sponsor some cool prizes don't hold back).

Email me if there are any questions.
