A technical point. It is valuable to have  logos which can be shrunk and
still be recognisable. Lines can disappear on shrinkage. Some organisations
have simplified logos for mini-pngs. SVG doesn't fully solve this problem
as lines can be rendered invisible or overlapping. I think the moire images
will be very confusing when shrunk
