I am interested in the mentorship elements, personally. I am also
interested in finding lists and communities in the US. I recently
moved to Florida, and I was hoping to connect with others in the
area. Can anyone suggest any lists or communities they may know of
in the US? Especially in the SouthEast?

        Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a good summer. It's been a little quiet on the
list so I wanted to see if we could get another Friday chat going.

Last week I chatted to Jenny Malloy from the Open Science
Working Group and she was saying that she's been trying to spend
more time chatting to people from other working groups to see
what they do well. I was wondering if we should be looking
        outward to get some ideas...

        So here's a few examples:

          * Some working groups have*'membership and mentorships
governance structures' - basically members paring up to work
together, or linking experts and rising stars *
          * *Some do more on a local level (So I know we have quite a
lot of interaction with the UK OER group - but maybe there
            are more opportunities here?)*
          * *Some working group websites try to be more of a hub of
            information.*
          * *Some working groups make more use of their advisory board -
            any ideas here?*
          * *Some use the community tumblr http://okfncommunity.tumblr.com*
          * *Some participate in Community Sessions
            http://wiki.okfn.org/Community_Sessions*
          * *Some have more cross-collaboration*
          * *Some have members pages where people can add details*

Any thoughts on these or other suggestions?

        Thanks

        Marieke
