Hi
Yes, every year ABED Brazilian Distance Learning Association has an
international conference and part of it is dedicated to the promotion of
OER and creating a dialogue w/ Brazilian government about this and other
themes.
This evolved differently throughout the years. Some years such as 2008 went
well and there is now important work being done w/ OER via a dept at the
association with leaders such as prof Mauro Pequeno from UFCE and online
and mobilization work done internationally like in Forum Abed Aberta w/
prof. Andreia Inamorato - I've participated in one of these initiatives.
However, lately the Min. of Education in Brazil has not participated very
much of the debates but there is a CFP for the meeting again, lots of
interest in the topic so hopefully conversations will restart.
All the best
Renata
