[OpenGLAM] cost benefit analysis of open digital content

I think this conversation comes up once every few months :)

I know of an archives that brings in enough money from images they can fund
a part time position in their digitization department. In the US, a part
time position would maybe be about $20,000ish.

I pinky swore to never say what archives that is, but, I was pretty
surprised to hear that. This specific archives does have a very high demand
collection of modern and historic figures, so at the same time...no
surprise. Sadly, many of those images are also public domain - you can
download low res from their website, but, high res you've got to pay the
price.

who could go on and on and on about this all day long.
