Hi Lieke
This is good to see - thanks for the info and link.
I don't suppose you have contact details for the organisers? I't great that they have listed Europeana, but I'd like to suggest that they link to our Europeana Labs site http://labs.europeana.eu as it's there that we feature open datasets and have all our technical API documentation. Also, we can answer any questions that they might have.
Best wishes
James

Subject: [OpenGLAM] 18-19 April: first Romanian Open Culture Hackathon
Dear all,
This weekend the Timisoara Open Culture Hackathon will take place: the first event in Romania that facilitates the reuse of open cultural data. Hackers, graphic designers, artists and representatives of national cultural institutions are invited to develop applications and design platforms that can reinvent the relationship between the public and the cultural works.
The event takes place during the weekend 18-19 April 2015, at the Central University Library "Eugen Todoran" of Timisoara.
Cultural data refers to collections, art works, books and other types of publications, audio visual materials, photographs, archived documents, monuments (content), as well as to descriptive information about these (metadata), such as title, creator, year, dimension, technology used etc.
More information can be found, in Romanian, on the following website: http://timisoara.datedeschise.ro/openculture2015/
The event is organized by the Romanian Coalition for Open Data, the Department for Online Services and Design - Romanian Government, Smart City Association, Kosson Community, Open Knowledge Romania, Politehnica University Timisoara, West University Timisoara and the Timisoara City Hall. It is financed through the SEE Grants 2009-2014 by the NGO Fund in Romania.

Best regards, Lieke Ploeger.
