Much thanks for your response Tracey. I will follow up and continue to
work through this issue on the Civic Access mailing list. It is much
appreciated

I had considered pre-loading some of the open data from the City to
Geocommons for those who might attend the Open Data Hackathon but may
have little or no programming skills to lend to the event. The data
set is largely spatial (points and shape files) and I am looking for
non-GIS web apps that can let non-programmers manipulate the data in
interesting ways. My first thought was OpenStreetMap but have decided
against it as they have expressed reservations about the current Terms
of Use from the four Canadian cities that have released Open Data.

If others have ideas for non-coding activities that involve Open Data,
please let me know. I will share what I find with the list if and when
I can compile some options.
