Hi,
Apologies for the delay in this.
I gather that there are a few people who've joined the list since the
Geek Night last week. There is some stuff to do on Open Correspondence
in turning it from a prototype to some thing more production.
James, I know you've offered to help out on helping the getting the
letters into TEI XML and rendered from there from the database. That
would be a really big help and expose the data in more formats than just
HTML or RDF. The code is available from the Mercurial repository at:
http://knowledgeforge.net/project/letters/services/hg/ . The app uses
Pylons and as yet I'm not sure how the templating handles XSLT.
I've just started work on updating the loading mechanism using a really
basic XML format but should allow different texts to be uploaded more
easily.
One of the things that Rufus and I have spoken about is tying it into
Weaving History (microfacts.org) and using the API to bind it into the
project.
If anybody has any other suggestions on things to do with the project,
the data or things that might be interesting, please feel free to post
it to the list.
All best,
Iain
