Hi all,

Very soon the deadline is for providing feedback to cOAlition S on their
Guidance for Plan S. As was clear from the meeting in Utrecht, there is
plenty of feedback on business models, APCs, etc.

However, there is not a lot of feedback from an Open Science side. Of
course, Plan S is about Open Access, but we cannot forget that OA is only a
small part of Open Science, and that Open Science is the real goal.

So, I started writing up my comments, and with the help from various people
(Jon, Lisa, Stuart, others), I now have my feedback to cOAlition S ready,
focusing on the Open Science side of things. For example, by putting focus
on the three open research freedoms.

If you also think Open Science is at least as important, if not more
important, as Open Access, please read and co-sign our feedback to the
coalition. If only they do not get sidetracked to discussions about who
pays for making science better:

Please do spread this form and/or my blog post [0] to get as many
supporters as possible before the Wednesday deadline.

Thanks,

Egon

Hi, do you like citation networks? Already 51% of all citations are
available <https://i4oc.org/> available for innovative new uses
<https://twitter.com/hashtag/acs2ioc>. Join me in asking the American
Chemical Society to join the Initiative for Open Citations too

SpringerNature,
the RSC and many others already did <https://i4oc.org/#publishers>.
