Vacancy: Project Manager for the European RDA Europe 4.0 project

Göttingen State and University Library is engaged in several national
and international projects on the development of infrastructures and
services for electronic publishing and the implementation of Open Access.
In this context, the European project “RDA Europe 4.0 – The European
plug-in to the global Research Data Alliance” is seeking a
*Scientific Manager*
for supporting the forthcoming RDA Europe 4.0 project. This post is
offered with immediate effect as a full-time position (currently 39,8
hrs/week, part-time is also possible) for the project period of 27
months. Salary is expected to be ca. EUR 54.000 p.a. (pro rata,
depending on experience; German salary schema for public employees, TV-L
E 14).
This position offers you interesting and varied work within a dynamic
international team in a pleasant working atmosphere. The post will
involve a certain amount of travel both within Europe and internationally.
*Responsibilities are as follows:*
* Manage the “Support to RDA involvement in European Policies” work
package, working closely with all coordinators and areas of the project
* Coordination of the strategic planning of the RDA Europe network of
national nodes, develop and implement activities, ensuring
successful support for the implementation of open science policies
* Develop and implement partnerships and activities in the context of
open science, including liaison with RDA, OpenAIRE, LIBER and the
European Open Science Cloud
* Coordination and communication of RDA aims and results which are of
particular relevance to European institutions and communities
* Contribution to the organization and implementation of events as
well as dissemination activities
*You will need:*
* a Master’s degree
* excellent knowledge of and experiences in digital information
management, preferably in the area of Open Access / Open Science,
research infrastructures and research data management,
* previous project management experience including the delivery and
sustainability of high-profile, multi-partner projects, budget
management (incl. agreements with third parties)
* experiences in public relations work and the organisation of events
and workshops
* excellent communication and organisational skills with a proven
ability to work with a wide range of internal and external contacts
and stakeholders
* team spirit, curiosity, goal-oriented, dynamism and sense of initiative
* fluent in English (spoken & written), German would be an asset but
is not required
RDA Europe 4.0 contributes to the implementation of an effective
governance model and strategy in RDA global, while ensuring that RDA
delivers on locally relevant issues. RDA Europe 4.0 focuses on the need
for open and interoperable sharing of research data and the need to
build social, technical and cross-disciplinary links to enable such
sharing on a global scale. The project builds up on the current RDA
Europe effort, and represents the fourth funding phase. The scope of RDA
Europe 4.0 is to become the centrepiece for an EU Open Science Strategy
through a consolidated European network of National Nodes, bringing
forward an RDA legacy in Europe, providing skilled, voluntary resources
and supported by an open cascading grants process. In RDA Europe 4.0
Göttingen State and University Library engages in building up a network
of EU RDA nodes, facilitates connections with OpenAIRE’s EU-wide network
of national nodes and supports RDA involvement in European policies and
communities, in the context of e-infrastructures and Open Science.
