Dear All

As part of a new project we have two research fellow positions to work on
charting the future of universities.

The Centre for Culture and Technology at Curtin University is developing a
research project focussed on how Higher Education and Research Institutions
(HERIs) can adapt for the future. The project is framed in the context of
global shifts towards open access, expectations of engagement between
researchers and society, and a focus on addressing the needs of users of
scholarship. Our team is exploring what it will take for universities to
better configure themselves as hubs and trusted brokers of knowledge in
complex global knowledge systems and asking how institutions might engage
more effectively with the possibilities and challenges of a transformation
towards open knowledge futures.

You can see more details at the links. One post will focus on data
gathering integration and analysis and one will be a critical and
evaluation role looking at how change occurs in response to stresses and
opportunities.

For the data science position you'll be experienced in data management,
integration, have some solid statistics knowledge. You might have some
experience from bibliometrics, demographics, or policy analysis but not
crucial.

For the Critical Analysis position you'll have an interest in how
evaluation turns to behaviour in practice. What are the limits on what data
can tell you, and how can we be creative, and objective, in telling if our
institutions are headed the right way?

Cheers

Cameron
