[open-science] Spatial Education is key for tackling Global Warming

During these days of COP24 in Katowice, I came across updates on Open Foris which is a set of free and open-source software tools that facilitates flexible and efficient data collection, analysis and reporting for environmental monitoring. Details at http://openforis.org

GIS is key for  understanding and protecting natural resource commons  (forests, water resources etc). Geotechnologies and open data will play a key role to guide policy and improve conservation efforts around the world. Spatial Education is key for tackling Global Warming. We also need to build more synergies with initiatives like UNCBD, UNFCC [1] [2] especially on the education and capacity development aspects [2].
