[open-science] Why are we leaving it to Google?

+1; I couldn't support the initiative (since I'm not on Twitter) but I find
the argument to support non-commercial infrastructures valid.

@Peter: In my opinion, a bit more info on the reasoning would be important
to start an informed discussion (e.g., blogpost).
