[openspending-dev] pull request for the openspending API

Hi Anders,

What I've done is just sharing the same solr instance for development and testing (which works for my use case).

In the tutorial, it is suggested that using two different instances will be a better solution, but in my specific case I am not sure about how to do it. I think adding this to the tutorial will be very helpful to everybody (at least for me! :)

Cheers,
Alberto

Hi Alberto,

Thanks a lot for the points about the missing information in the installation tutorial!

Would you be up for adding some of these comments to the tutorial? It would be great to have your points added, given that you managed to get through in one piece :-)

Best,
Anders

Hi,

Thanks for your help, it is fixed now. :)

One line had to be commented in the test.ini file in order to use the instance of solr for the tests. It would be nice if someone could extend a bit that point in the installation tutorial (i.e. for setting two instances of solr, one for testing and another one for developement)

By the way, I have updated the pull request, so you guys can review again :)

Cheers,
Alberto

What do you do to run the tests? So I can try and replicate.

I've been able to replicate. The connection refused message is because of Solr.

When you run the tests you need to have solr running as well (you don't need celeryd or the serve running). It's just that the tests can't start up a solr instance.

If you do that, then you won't see all of those error messages :)

We should probably add something about this into the docs.
