I think that's a good idea.

I can imagine a site where you ask questions about UK Government
finance, of any sort, and people help you find the answer.

You could probably even use the Stack Overflow software, if you could
build enough of a community of questioners and answerers. Tax Payers'
Alliance can probably help do that :)

I'd complement it with other visualisation sites, so people can embed
graphs and tables generated from public finance datasets into their
answers. And likewise, with datasets describing programme object codes
etc. in more details.
