The Data Landscape paper [0] has a section on *Data Innovation* (a DMB term embracing Open Data, Big Data and Data Science), and it briefly mentions the Open Knowledge Foundation:
> Data Innovation

> 6. The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) is the UK’s main innovation agency. Funded by BIS (Dept for Business, Innovation and Skills) they have been responsible for establishing a number of programmes and mechanisms to drive innovation with the aim of stimulating economic growth across the UK. Glasgow were recently selected as a demonstrator for the TSB future/smarter cities programme.

BIS initially led in this area, however, in recent months Cabinet Office have taken over responsibility for this area. Annex C provides an overview of the current UK Open Data and Transparency groups. Although a devolved matter Scottish Government officials have regular contact with Cabinet Office officials, this includes understanding what the UK are doing and the sharing of best practice.

> 8. The Digital Public Services Industry Board and Scottish Enterprise’s Technology Advisory Group, and industry bodies such as ScotlandIS are providing routes for engagement with Industry. It is important that we continue to build upon these relationships. The Data Science Innovation Centre (Innovation Lab) will provide further opportunity to strengthen these links.

> 9. Within Scotland there is an emergence of a number of Open Data interest groups, keen to engage with the public sector. It is important that the public sector recognises the value of these groups and the need to engage with them using social media i.e. Twitter, Linked In. A number of public sector bodies, including Scottish Government, are engaging with groups such as the Open Knowledge Foundation to share learnings and raise awareness of what the public sector is doing.
The Strategic Action Plan Draft [1] also contains interesting material.
