 Hi All The latest NHS Hack Day is happening in Oxford 26-27 Jan 2013. If
you're a geek who loves the NHS and are interested in improving healthcare
through technology and knowledge sharing, please sign up at

*What are NHS Hack Days? *

They're events that bring together healthcare and technology professionals
and other "geeks who love the NHS" to help to improve healthcare.

*What were the outputs from the first two NHS Hack Days?*

   1. Fun and community, NHS Hack Day mailing list, twitter, and pub meets
   continue. Several teams that formed during the weekend have continued
   meeting and working on their projects. One team went on to make
   PrescribingAnalytics <http://prescribinganalytics.com/>, a web based
   analytics tool using open data to support better value prescribing in the
   NHS.
   2. Individual projects included OpenBNF.org <http://www.openbnf.org/>, a
   more accessible and useful version of the BNF (a book doctors use to look
   up the dose of medicine they prescibe),
ChecklistHQ.com<http://checklisthq.com/>,
   a website for making and sharing check lists (rather than relying on solely
   on your memory), and
Cellcount<http://frectal.com/2012/09/30/cell-counter-nhshackday-opensourceopenehr/>,
   a tool that helps haematology doctors count cells and saves them time.
   3. We got people talking about NHS Hack Days, open source, open
   governance, and the advantages of employing software developers. We were
   featured on BBC Radio
