Dear all,
Disclaimer: I have never worked on the EU level of politics so please
correct me I am wrong.
I think Jenny got a lot of support and deadline is soon (already 22nd
of March, i.e. next week Tuesday). In order to get people in to the EU
Open Science Policy Platform we have to play their game. The call
states two ways of applying to become a member of the platform [1]. As
individuals or as a representative of a organization. I talked to
Julia Reda [2] and she said for such a platform it would be ideal to
have a high ranking person representing its organization (the call
talks in of a single person per organization as far as I understand
[1]). As Jenny is the global coordinator of the Open Science
activities of OKFN I suggest that OKFN as an organization is applying
and sent her as representative with that title "Global Coordinator
Open Science".
Besides this we should support individual members of the open science
community. There are 20 - 30 slot to fill [1] and it would be a shame
if we are not trying to get more of our people into the platform.
This is why I would encourage you to apply as individuals like Björn
Brembs and Cameron Neylon have done. I myself will apply and would be
happy if you could endorse me here:
