[open-visualisation] Software to generate timelines for print?

Hi all,

I wonder whether anyone might be able to recommend software to
generate timelines for print?

I would ideally like to create a vertical timeline intended for
publication in an A4 document with three main types of event:
biographical, publications, and historical context.

Can anyone think of anything that I could use?
